Welcome to an exciting new adventure on our channel! 🌟 In this episode, we take you on a long 90-km ride from Shizuoka Prefecture through Aichi Prefecture and finally by ferry to Mie Prefecture.
We started in the coastal city of Hamamatsu in Shizuoka Prefecture, famous for its production of musical instruments and of course, the stunning Lake Hamana.
It’s been a tough, hilly ride but the ocean views, especially in Aichi Prefecture, made it all worth it. The Pacific Long Beach really reminded me of the Pacific Coast on the West Coast of the US. We had to keep our pace up, and despite fixing a puncture, couldn’t take breaks, as we had a ferry to make!
This was our first time in Japan to take our bikes on a ship. What a beautiful adventure it was, as we saw the sun set behind the rugged coast and tiny islands! Taking the ferry was actually very easy – just keep the schedule in mind and buy a ticket just before you board the ferry. The staff secured our bikes for us, so we could relax on the boat! They even served light meals such as Japanese grilled rice balls. It’s a special memory, we will treasure forever.
When we arrived in Toba, in Mie Prefecture, the sun had just set and we rested at a simple hotel to refuel our energy for another epic ride the next day!
