The Hakone Open-Air Museum opened in 1969 is the first open-air museum in Japan. It aims to promote contemporary sculptures as an environmental art. It is a 35mins train ride from the Hakone-Yumoto station. It also have indoor galleries, and one of them is the Picasso Pavilion which holds Pablo Picasso’s artworks from paintings, sculptures to ceramics.
