静岡県周智郡森町鍛治島にある「半夏生の小径（はんげしょうへのこみち）」を歩きました。
半夏生とは、花穂のそばの葉が半分白くなる特徴を持つ、ドクダミ科の多年草です。葉が白くなる様がまるで化粧をしたように見えたことから、「半化粧」と呼ばれました。やがて半“化粧”が転じて半“夏生”となり、「この花が咲く頃＝半夏生」とするようになったと言われます。
I walked along the “Trail to Hangesho” in Mori-machi, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
The “Hangesho” is a perennial herb of the Dokudamiaceae family that has a characteristic in that the leaves near the ears of flowers turn half white.

Beautiful trail. Not so hot during summer as the tree canopies provide shelter from the scorching sun. I love the canopy walkway in the wetland areas. Thank you for taking us along virtually 👍
