Today is our FIRST TIME riding on a Japanese bullet train! The Shinkansen is the fastest bullet train in Japan, and one of the fastest in the world! We had quite the experience cruising at nearly 200 miles per hour from Tokyo out to Kyoto, eating our 7-Eleven purchased snacks along the way. Once we arrive in Kyoto the sightseeing really begins! After trying the famous 7-Eleven strawberry sandwich, we visit the Golden Pavilion and the epic Fushimi Inari orange gates! Two must see sites when in Kyoto! Did we mention its cold here? We had to find somewhere to warm up so we went to the popular Ichiran! This place not only has arguably the best Ramen in the world, but the experience is awesome too! After some street food dessert, we head back to our apartment for the night. Cannot wait to see more of Kyoto!

  1. If you ever make coffee table book of all your travels I would buy it in heart beat ❤❤

  2. Oh my gosh, I want one of those strawberry sammy's! Can you bring one back to me in Kentucky please? haha! Seriously, it looked soooooo good!

  3. When riding the bullet train, you should get an ekiben-station bento-(box lunch). You can eat it on your train ride. They even have ones that heat up.

  4. I have so enjoyed all your video's and know it will end soon which makes me sad but at the same time excited to see what the future holds. My personal hope is that you end your adventure in the Dominican Republic with at LEAST one full week (should make it 2) of sun, snorkeling, exploring and relaxing!! Then end it all by flying home with your niece!! Just would be so fun!! I don't know what the rules are or anything with the end of her mission but would still be fun for all of you!!

  5. So good to "talk" with you again!! Have loved your shorts, but missed these videos! All the temples in Japan look like the structure is smiling with the turned up edges. Japanese people always seem so happy…..maybe that's why. Wish it were warmer for you!! Loving Japan!!!

  6. Are you still in Japan? then maybe UNIQLO will help you out from this coldness. They have light puff jacket at a reasonable price and also some really warm shirts. We cant survive winter in Japan without UNIQLO! btw, Kyoto's winter is said to get very cold due to its geographical reason. Hope you feel warm and fully enjoy the rest of your trip!

  7. Little corrections: the shinkansen isn't the fastest bullet train, it's the bullet train. You'll find the fastest shinkansen on the Tohoku line (320km/h), not between Tôkyô and Kyôto.
In Tôkyô station at the level of the "regular" (not shinkansen) trains, there is a shop (Ekibenya Matsuri) where you can buy ekiben (bento sold in trains /stations) from all over Japan. Nothing against egg sandwiches, but it adds to the "shinkansen experience"…

  8. Dan, your haircut really does look nice, you seemed to be able to style it just fine. That ramen looked delicious! Please continue to be safe ☺️❤️

  10. We went to Japan in December and the weather was a lot like fall in IL. It was great for sight seeing.

  11. In January 2020 I booked a place similar to yours for my 5 night stay with my daughter and couldn’t believe the size for the price. Loved the narrow street it was in, and just around the corner was Kamo River, with so much else being an easy walk away. Actually the entrance was in the narrow street but the apartment stretched right through the width of the block so the bedroom window opened to the road that ran along Kamo river. That was my third time in Kyoto over 30 years, and each experience has been totally different: First just hubby and I staying in a Ryokan by the canal that starts up near the ‘silver temple’; then as a family of 5 south of Kyoto station in a home stay set up on a very steep street; then in the above mentioned place with my young adult daughter. I could so easily visit and stay again. Always enjoy your videos! Best wishes, from Sydney Australia 😊

  12. It would help if you guys got a Uniqlo Ultra Light Down Jacket. It is light, compact, and reasonable.

  13. Thank you for enjoying Japan. As a Japanese, I am very happy !!
    I have a few suggestions for you🍀
If you are going to Osaka, I suggest you go a little further and see the World Heritage Site of Himeji Castle.
I think you will enjoy its other name, White Egret Castle.
And it is my wish that you visit Hiroshima.
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Itsukushima Shrine, a World Heritage Site on Miyajima, are two special places that are worth visiting at least once in your lifetime.
This year's G7 Summit will be held in Hiroshima in May. How about a visit ahead of time❓

  14. The YouTube system recommended this video to me. The latest N700S series logo, launched in July 2020, was printed on the Shinkansen you two boarded! I am happy that you are enjoying Japan. And the bread you probably bought from Lawson is definitely cooked 😁 I'll be watching more videos on this channel from now on. Please stop by Osaka too😉

  15. Snow eater?( *´艸`)京都に遊びに来てくれてうれしいです。素敵な旅の動画をありがとう。

  16. just a heads up, always drink the soup first before you go for the noodles. A little ramen etiquette to show respect for the master.

  17. Still find it so disappointing that you are not respectful of Japanese culture but Chell not taking her hat off in a restaurant.

You both need to respectful of culture.

Doesn't mean you travel the world if your not respectful of culture or to learn from culture instead of being American and being yourself.
Even in yhe restaurant you n3ed to respect it….
    I can't even

  18. Love seeing/hearing your thoughts on Japan, was there 20 years ago (ahh I feel old) I LOVED Kyoto. I hope you are heading to see Hiroshima and close to there is Miyajima which was awesome and a day trip to Nara is worth it too. I would go back in a heart beat if I had enough $$$

  19. I watched this already but I couldn't figure out how to get back to The like button so I had to go back to the beginning I like their travels because they explain everything and how old it is and all that when I'll feel but I hope you all are doing well I've seen you as much lately God-bless you and stay safe

  21. I’m glad you are having a good time in Japan! And please come back to Tokyo again!

  22. You need long underwear! It’s lightweight and packs well! Loved the bullet train and all that you showed us in this video, including all that interesting-looking food – I love food! Still looking good, Daniel! It’s strawberry season here in Florida, as well!

  23. You have to go to an onsen it's a very hot bath, I never got to try one as I have tattoos. They don't let people with tattoos in, but if the hotel has one, I think you can. The gates are called Torri Gates, I would love to go to kyoto next time and take some beautiful photos of the Torri Gates. You have to go to Monkey Island. I can't remember where it is. I've only seen it on YouTube.
I love the haircut and seeing you without your hat.
I can't wait for uour next vlog.
