The fastest train in the world is the Maglev L0 from Japan, it set a recording breaking top speed of 603 km/h on 21 April 2015. The Maglev L0 is currently doing test runs near Mount Fuji at a testing center in Yamanashi just outside Tokyo. The Maglev L0 will enter passenger service in 2027 where the normal operating speed will be 500KM/H (311 MP/H) with a journey time from Tokyo to Osaka of 1 Hour 7 Minutes instead of 2 hours and 30 minutes by the current Shinkansen. The Maglev L0 will depart from Shinagawa in Tokyo as they couldn’t get land near Tokyo or Shinjuku.
In Japanese the Maglev is known as “linear” but in Katakana and read as LI NI A if you were to decode it from リニア (Full name of the train and line リニア中央新幹線 Linear Chuo Shinkansen) The Maglev is also known as リニアモーターカ Linear Motor Car

I took the one hour bus from Shinjuku to 中央道小形山 Bus Stop to go and see it. The admission price is about $4 USD which is a bargain.

  1. I was able to test drive this train last year. How lucky I am The inside of the train is silent like a silent library. There was no unpleasant vibration, and I could not believe that I was traveling at 500 km/h. It's the pinnacle of technology. I sincerely hope that we will be able to open as soon as possible.
