Ohhh 😉 I planned to see the samurai experience for next summer. Even more cool, if I would run to you, since you make amazing videos. I am used to western swordsmanship, but I am really interested in the japanese medieval times, since it is such a great inspiration. Just started Musashi by E. Yoshikawa and already read the book of the five rings 🙂
modern day miyamoto a pretty bold statement just saying
Hey Shogo…
THANKS,. 🙂
Hi,
Thanks for the idea of a fun thing to do when I’m in Kyoto this year (hopefully )
I already train mugai-ryu iaido in Portugal so would be interested to see the differences between the ryuha
Joined this experience 2 weeks ago, it was super fun and I really wanted to commit more time to learning the art! Looking forward for my next visit!
They samurai acadamy again
In the main training/duelling hall I would find it difficult to learn because of my body size and the teachers would probably humour me (concidering my height is 190cm and mass is 90kg)
After training in Ninjutsu, practicing the discipline of steel, the katana is the ideal complement to the mental and physical strengthening of the apprentice, thank you sensei Shogo for this spectacular video.I love Japan🇯🇵
Hey Shogo, congratulations on this step towards your dream!
Since you mentioned expanding internationally, I would love if you ever visited Brazil (the second largest japanese population, last only to Japan itself) to compare what is taught as 'japanese culture' over here. My intuition is that it probably resembles early 1900's Japan, because it was around that time the majority of japanese people emigrated from japan to Brazil and estabilished communities.
i may be too poor to go to japan, but every time i see this man's glorious smile, my day gets infinitely better
😁
A sword for each hand , a stick, or no sword at all …
00:36 I know these tourists are noobs but please train them better. It hurts to see them do that.
Very Kool! I hope to send my [adult] daughters next year.
How much martial arts training does one have to have to participate in these workshops?
Someone buy me a ticket to Kyoto!
What's your email address?
I tried to leave some information ( health data,) in your comment section, but someone removed it.
I am so very grateful to be studying iaido. I " stumbled upon it" 3 years ago in a small dojo tucked away in my home town of Schenectady New York. I may never experience going to Kyoto, but I share some of the pure pleasure of training with an iaito and delving into the culture it represents. I deeply appreciate the sacrifices and devotion those who have brought this sword art across the globe, even to towns like mine. It is pure joy to train ! I support you in your vision, Shogo!
Ooo thank you for sharing this with us! Also Shogo, I just saw that you lived in Michigan for 6 years. I have lived here all my life so I found that pretty neat! Would love a video just about the time that you spent here and what you thought about it all (:
Looks like he is using muscle, better training to everyone.
Peace
Awesome❤❤❤❤❤⚔️✌️
Hello Shogo! Any idea how much wealth a samurai would need to purchase and maintain a Katana back around the edo or sengoku period? As I learn more about japanese swordsmanship, this is something that sprung to mind recently. Thank you!
I hope to meet you all one day! Or if you guys come to Hawaii ill glady be tour guide
Can you please do a video about Bosozoku?
Please talk English
what are best length katana and wakizashi?
This is amazing, I've always been interested in Japanese culture, especially in samurai and shinobi and I've always wanted to learn more about Musashi's Niten Ichi Riyu or "The Way of the Two Heavens", his twin sword weilding style. I've somewhat mentally trained myself in it. And in fact, just today I received his Book of the Five Rings, I idolize Musashi both as a skilled warrior and a philosopher. Philosophy and warfare, a shame these two have become so distant since the times of Sun Tzu and Miyamoto Musashi. Much love from America to Japan and the rest of the world, may the Gods smile upon you.
Congratulations! I defiantly want visit if i come to Japan one day.
Merry Christmas, I just got my first katana and I wanted to know if running a ceiling fan is bad for the katana at all it is 1060 carbon steel and is displayed on a wall(blade facing up, saya on), and I wanted to know if that will cause it to degrade or hurt the blade?
Is there any sparring in the style you practice? And if not, why?
