  1. 5:35 "here we have the high-tech toilet situation I despise" lol that made me giggle 👌😅

  2. The first thing I spotted was ya legendary blanket 👍😂😂😂..and the flashlight is for finding the switches which you've turned off👍

  3. Hi Gabriel…am baffled…I received a message from you saying that I am a WINNER in your draw and to telegram you…
Mmmm…a winner of what? And telegram you how? Arigato

  4. Ooh exciting. Where in Japan will you be going. China is on my bucket list when they are cleared of lockdowns. But Japan looks lovely too. I could change my mind after watching your videos 😅

  5. Great vlog, Japanese put to shame on how much wasted space their is in western hotel rooms, all you could possibly want was in Gabriel's room. have always loved to visit japan and so curious where and what Gabriel plans are, would love to know the hotel Gabriel is staying at, just as a recommendation for other travellers.

  6. As a north American, I remember when Japan was prohibitively expensive based on Yen to USD exchange. That seems to have changed now. Incredible to see how much you got for $15USD at the 7-11, not to mention the hotel room value. Very encouraging!!!

  7. Good to see you traveling Japan and going up north. I loved your journey video from Portland to Tokyo too 😊

  8. Hey Gabriel, you mentioned that you might be heading to Hokkaido, so if you happen to be near Mt. Fuji, my friend Aimee is the project director for Fujisan Winery, located on the slopes of Mount Fuji. They just finished harvesting the grapes, but might be worth a stop in for a glass or two. Have a great time.

  9. I stayed at that exact hotel when I was in Tokyo before the pandemic. Almost looks like I was in the same room. It was identical. Can’t wait to get back. Have a good trip!

  10. Not a bad room for $65 in Tokyo. Looking forward to your Japan adventures. I hope you will visit Sapporo.

  11. Love the flashlight. In my travels once on the 6th or 7th floor of the hotel, there was a complete blackout in the middle of the night. I called the desk and they said, oh no problem etc. I went back to sleep. When I left town my taxi driver told me the same hotel had had a serious fire and had recently been "completely renovated". I always pack a rechargeable flashlight but believe me one that is just sitting right there next to you might have been super handy!

  12. Try conbini bento boxes very yumy and filing, even many vending machines have good food

  13. how much can a trip to japan cost i would love to save up to go one day maybe for my 30th birthday gives me plenty of time to save up just looking for a good range to save up for

  14. I was fortunate enough to spend two months in Japan, mostly in Tokyo, back in the 70s when i was a child. Great memories. I would love to return. Happy Trails Mr. Morris. Looking forward to this series. Cheers.

  15. Hi! Glad you made it to Japan. Great room tour. I'd really be interested in seeing all of the unusual (by Western standards) vending machines you come across whilst there!

  16. Great to see you on the move.
I was a month in Tokyo in 1990. Interesting to see what you show is but I still remember that distinct Japanese way of doing things which took a bit of figuring out.
Looking forward to your next videos.

  17. You think you will visit Okinawa on this trip? If so, i suggest you take a ferry to the Kerama Islands. Year-round swimming in that beautiful place.

  18. "The wifi password is in the room". LOL I never would have found that. I'd end up going back down to the desk for help.

  19. Watch out for hackers showing up to your hotel and using a key logger on your laptop when your visiting an online bank.

  20. wow $65 for a single room in Tokyo is great. I was there in 2020 just before covid, and I was paying $45-50 for a bed in an a hostel. Amazing hostels but still.

  21. 👍 Gabriel, I am not at all shocked to see how lovely your hotel room is! 👍
    | am not shocked to see what one can get at a 7/11 store, over there, either!

    1) The Japanese are known to pride themselves on cleanliness, on accommodating guests, on giving guests nice stays, on food preparation and presentation. Hotel rooms are usually cleanly, hygienic, very well stocked, etc. Japan wants YOU to come back, you see.

    2) 7/11 stores do not serve junk-y foods by and large.
The Japanese demand good food. So, that is why there is good food to be bought and had.
👉 Be sure to get a load of the Japanese sandwiches, Gabriel: Try the strawberries and cream one sandwiched between two slices of white bread! You will see combos (over there) sandwiches between slices of breads that you would never, ever, e-ver see stateside!

  22. Looking good Gabriel, you visit home must have been good for you.. Looking forward to see Japan. Thank you for everything

  23. Maybe you should try the much cheaper Super Hotel with free breakfast located in most cities.
