  1. Hey guys, Glad you made it out and back safe. I have a friend and his family, fulltimers. Who were running from the storm and flooding in Ft Myers Florida. He and his family own a 5th wheel pulled by a dually and as they were leaving, driving on the highway, the water was so deep and was coming into the truck and the 5th wheel was floating off to one side. Luckily it only happened for a few hundred feet and the trailer tires finally hit bottom and lined back up. They made to higher dryer ground, driving all the way to Lake City Florida.. Good Luck and God Bless

  2. Maybe, instead of rebuilding homes that stand a chance of being washed away again and again the Government should give these people movable homes and cars so they can safely get away and then return when the dangers gone. Lights, water and safety all in one. Petrol may be a problem though…..and…..
Is it more expensive than building over and over again? It's easier to evacuate with your home. But then again…I often don't think logically. It's just so sad about the folks who lost family, friends, pets, homes and livelihoods. Our hearts go out to them. Will there ever be viable solutions for anywhere in this world in this time of climate change? WWJD?

  3. I agree. A class C is very sketchy in high winds. If you’re not paying attention you’re in the next lane in a heart beat. I have a Lance travel trailer I tow with a Tacoma now. It’s not bad but if there’s a high wind warning I stay put. I spent two extra days in Grand Junction Co last April because of high wind warnings in Nebraska.

  4. It’s a great tunnel experience in a sports car with a loud exhaust lol. I don’t think I’d like driving my camper through it though

  5. We watched the video and were shocked ya'll were right in our area. It's our (my wife and I) fault for not following closer. In years past I've seen RVs that had gone completely under water at that campground. Those were major hurricanes that hit directly though. The houses on stilts were not done for extra exercise! If you're still in Beaufort County, you should come check out Belhaven and The Mad Batter Bakery.

  6. Been there times 2. Stayed at that campground on OBX and been woken up at 5am by camp staff as the creek we were on was cresting.

  7. We drove down those roads this summer in VA in our 26 ft class C and prayed…..alot!! Including in the tunnel. Seems like they just paved over the horse and buggy roads and no allowance for 2 lanes!

  8. Reason why we dislike travel trailers.. so much easier having an RV.. we never have to pull over for food. My Wife makes awesome sandwiches all while I'm driving… Our kids watch movies and nap all while I'm driving.

  9. Tough to make those moment to moment choices, but feels so good to know our home is moveable! We had left FL and were already at a Lake Hartwell SC campground luckily, so we barely got any rain. Glad you guys are safe!

  10. Whoa I was shocked when you said that the Airstream was hard to control in wind. I was in a tropical storm with 60mph gusts going home in 2013 to Fort Myers from St. Augustine FL towing my recently purchased Airstream with a Curt hitch (no sway control) and it was straight on through it all- straight blows, side blows, etc. There was a box trailer en route that was blowing all over the road. Even semi truck trailers were running to the side with their rears in the left lane. It was bad. The wind just rolled over top the Airstream and I was not blown around towing with a half ton too. I had major headwinds at times that would drop my speed 20mph. After experiencing that, I said I would never want a box trailer.

  11. We (my daughter and I) work at the cheasapeak bay KOA. we saw some crazy surf and it ate a foot of beach. But we didn't flood. Got some 60mph winds near kiktopeak.

  12. Glad y'all are safe too. But you really need to consider coming to Texas. We always have nice weather. No rain, no wind, and it's been in the 80's.

  13. Hey owners of this channel you might want to subscribe to Mike morales, above ground world news he does awesome awesome weather forecasting several times a week. Please do check into him and subscribe to him so that you can keep up with the real happenings versus the BS newscasters and TV gives you

  14. So I'm not the only one who likes bridges?!? My father was a civil engineer and took us on a bona fide pilgrimage to the Macinac Straights Bridge. AWESOME!

  15. I've owned an Airstream for 22 years. It is VERY stable on the road, no sway whatsoever (first a Reese hitch with sway bar, now an Equalizer 4 point which i love).

  16. Listening to this, reminds me of what some people in FL were saying while trying to decide whether to stay or leave….LEAVE!! I LIVE in FL, I left early. The weather people do not know what is going on or what track the Hurricane will end up taking. LEAVE!!
