My go-to mooncake:
► Maxim’s white lotus paste double egg yolk

My first weekly vlog back in Sydney since flying back from Hong Kong, and I’m starting it with a really exciting and delicious visit to Choji Yakiniku in Chatswood Sydney. This was only possible because my friends managed to get a booking and it was delicious Japanese BBQ Yakiniku with high-quality beef. Every bite was great, especially the Ox tongue which is my personal favourite to order when having Japanese BBQ. Of course, I had to get myself a bowl of white rice, because rice is life.

Another spot I wanted to show you guys is Cafe Feoh. I’ve been to Cafe Feoh in Lindfield so many times and I order the same thing each time – the fusion bacon egg roll. I genuinely missed it a little while I was out of town so it was great to get one for brunch.

  1. Thanks Janice for this great video with moon cakes. Looking forward to your new video next week.

  2. Parking on the Korean side of Ewoo is definitely an easier, calmer and less stressful experience these days since the new car park opened. Parking on the Chinese side is still very much a sh*tfight 😄

  3. Janice your rigth Moon cakes never make the mistake and eat one by yourself it does look small. To much calories

  4. Just a heads up Janice Netflix is all over Surf Shark now as is Foxtel and most Geo streaming is now IP blocked so these services no longer work on most VPNs in countries you select it will default to your origin unless you get lucky with a certain selection but they are constantly blocking new ways around it…It’s now false advertising to claim this and a pain to get a refund if you buy it on this premise..

  5. Janice, you've got to try the Gyokai Black ramen in the restaurant next door, Manpuku. Arguably right up there with the best ramen in ole Sydney.

  6. Omg the Japanese BBq looked absolutely divine from the tongue to the wagyu I was drooling I need to visit there🥰💕 ..In Eastwood the Korean side is always a little quieter but parking is pretty busy all around ..I always love your description of the food a lovely video & vlog Janice ..x❤️🥰

  7. Yo Leaf & berry b rolls are juicy AF! I agree with you with ordering rice at Choji haha I got 2 bowls and smashed the yukke mazesoba! Yukke mazesoba was my favourite at Choji.

  8. Hey Janice. I don’t know if the parking on the “Korean side” of Eastwood can ever be much easier, even with the new car park, because it feels to me that side is kinda land locked by Blaxland Rd, First Ave and the railway. On the other side I can always just find a spot in a back street easier. Anyway, I just go with the attitude that if we want good things, we will just find a way, like parking combined with a long walk haha.

  9. Please stop supporting Maxim company and buy their mooncakes or anything from them. They've been supporting Hongkong police force for using unnecessary violence to Hongkong citizens who only asked for fair judgements and democracy, and claimed that will give up on Hongkong young people, during the event happened in Hongkong in 2019 and 2020.
You may say buying one box of their mooncakes doesn't mean anything, but it actually do. Every single dollar paid to them means a support to the dictatorship from the Chinese government.

  10. The worst thing to happen eating a moon cake is that you cut it through and leave a piece with no yolk in it. I don't wanna eat that piece lol

  11. My fav moon cake is the lotus paste by itself . I do miss my childhood days of carrying a paper lantern at night with the candle in the middle . 🥮

  12. Congrats on the sponsor money and it's a shame you didn't stay in hk for mid autumn. Maybe next year!? The bacon roll looked good

  13. We actually go to the doctors’ practice across the road from Cafe Feoh! Eddy is a connoisseur of bacon and egg rolls, I’m sure he’d love to try the fusion one 😋 Happy Mid Autumn Festival 🥮 we usually celebrate by going out for dinner… and eating mooncakes, of course!

  14. The Maxim’s double salty eggs lotus paste moon cake 🥮 is also my favourite. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to you and your family! The bacon and egg rolls look soooo yummy! Thank you for sharing your visit to the yakinuku place… all the dishes look sooo amazing 😻. Please keep on producing food videos! I always enjoy watching your videos!

  15. Nice. I had my lower wisdom teeth extraction 5 days ago so can only have smoothies and yoghurt. But should be able to add to my diet later this week. Its a great idea to try different foods… you don't know what you're missing… and something I enjoyed before my op. Have a sick leave cert until Wed incl.

  16. Yeah I would say white lotus with egg yolk would be the go to if I have to pick one. It's sweetness tastes cleaner than say a red bean, although I also like pandan or green tea flavours too which are not really you traditional mooncake flavours.

  17. You certainly have a talent for finding the best food wherever you go. Everything at Choji Yakiniku looked amazing. Welcome home.

  18. I love mooncakes but I've always been a bit scared of the ones with egg. I think it's my time to be brave and try one tomorrow!

  19. Was the shaved ice machine making ice with the green tea already mixed in, or was green tea powder added afterwards?? (11:45 , the machine only appears for one second) 👋🇨🇭🇺🇸

  20. Another mouth watering video , those egg & bacon rolls look delicious , will have to check them out when in Lindfield, I’m also a white lotus, double yolk mooncake person, but I need at least a 1/4 piece , I like to have with Chinese tea which breaks down the richness 😂

  21. Janice…. seems you're a Lindfield regular, have you tried Gelatiamo down the road? i like their scrambled eggs and gelato
haven't been to Choji since the 2nd lock down…. i started going there when they just opened and their set lunches were quite reasonable…..

  22. Janice, love your videos. We definitely want to go to the yakiniku restaurant. Question: we are 4 seniors in our 70s and 80s, not eating as much as we used to. Do you think we can order 1 set per couple? I have done this at Omakase sushi places.

  23. Hey Janice! Wanted to reach out and thank you for your awesome videos! I visited Syd last week (from NZ, my first intl trip since covid), and hit up so many of your recommended food spots! 😍 Excited to see more Sydney content, so I can add to my ever growing list of food places to try for the next time I'm back 🤭

  24. Hi Janice, random question I was trying to find your shallots oil chicken video to make myself but can’t find the video. What is it called? Thank you! 🙂

  25. My favorite was the wagyu beef with rice bowl, also the spanner corn soup & mozzarella scallop look very delicious 🤤😭
