Lumix S5 + Canon 50mm f1.8 Low Light

Filmed in Sopot, Poland with Panasonic Lumix S5 and Lumix S5 + Canon 50mm f1.8 Low Light (using Sigma MC-21 converter)

Shutter speed 1/50s
Aperture f/1.8
ISO: 200-2000

Cinelike-D, 8-bit 4:2:0, colorgraded in Davinci Resolve 18

Trust me, it was dark there…

But it was no challenge for full frame sensor with a fast lens. I was able to push brightness a lot in post-production, without introducing substantial noise to the image. Applied some contrast, saturation and a color LUT. Overall, I’m very happy with the final result.

Why not 10-bit and V-Log? I think the image is good enough and 8-bit footage it is easier to edit in Davinci Resolve free version (no conversion required).
But I’m planning to shot next video in 10-bit, 4:2:2 log profile…

Shot handheld, with manual focus only. AFC mode is not supported by Sigma MC-21, and for AFS mode… lets say it works, but I was not happy with the results (although playing with camera’s AF speed settings could produce some improvement in this area). Anyway, I decided to use manual focus only for all the shots

    It is a very beautiful beach sunset. The view at night is also the best. The music 🎧 is also nice and cool. The video of the ship🚢 matches this scenery very well.
