A bed of Japanese irises flowering on the grounds of Yuge Shrine in Ehime Prefecture. 💜
To enter the shrine visitors cross the covered bridge over the pond. The shrine was built in 1396 and worshippers come to pray for rich harvests and the wellbeing of their families.
Travel tip: These are best viewed in early summer.
Taikobashi Bridge at Yuge Shrine is currently closed to traffic due to a broken pillar. You can visit the main shrine from another promenade. Access via Taikobashi Bridge will be possible from around autumn this year, with full repairs expected to be completed by autumn 2023.
