Osaki Hachimangu Shrine is located around 20 minutes from Sendai Station, and many would agree that it’s a must-see destination if you’re in the area. The construction of the shrine was ordered by feudal lord Date Masamune in 1607, and the main shrine building was designated a National Treasure of Japan in 1907. You can see in some of the photos in this collection that the shrine is gearing up for Tanabata, also known as the Star Festival. 🌟
