Have you ever been under a rolling pink sea of blooming wisterias? đž
While ostensibly a Buddhist temple, Byakugo-ji in Hyogo Prefecture could easily be mistaken for a public garden. It has such a wonderful array of flowers and trees to fit any season. Of particular note is the Wisteria Festival held yearly in May. The sky above the templeâs gardens is full of seeming waves of soft pinks. A full canopy of wisterias. The blooms are even lit up at night, making for a truly breathtaking display.
If youâre not in Japan for May, never fear! They plant all kinds of seasonal plants, so the temple gardens look great all year round.
