Introducing the world’s largest underground flood diversion facility in the town of Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture. Fifty metres below ground level lurks an incredible feat of engineering. 😎 Several times a year, water from heavy rains is diverted to prevent flooding in the watershed and urban areas north of Tokyo. Perhaps obviously, on rainy days no visitors are allowed. ☔
