Shrouded in mystery, Kinojo Castle (translated to mean Demon Castle), is believed to have been home to a demon called Prince Ura who ruled the area from here. 🏯 Remarkably the size of today’s castle ruins (originally built more than 1,300 years ago,) suggests it was one of Japan’s largest.

📍 Kinojo Castle is located atop Mt. Kinojo overlooking the Seto Inland Sea in Soja City, approximately 40 minutes by car from Okayama City. It’s around 5 km from the Hattori station on JR Kibi Line.
