Explore the ancient training site of ascetic monks and soak in the power of this sacred mountain! The 1982m (6503ft) #Tengudake is the iconic peak of Mt. #Ishizuchi, the highest and most challenging in western Japan.
From October to early November, you’ll be fascinated by its stunning autumn colors. Take a ropeway ride half-way up to Chugu Jojusha of #Ishizuchi Shrine, looking over the gorgeous #autumnfoliage. From there on, if you are an avid climber, you can tackle the ascetic route to scale four almost vertical rocky cliffs using iron chains. Or take the non-ascetic route around the cliff, to reach the summit where a further spectacular view awaits!
