Jhinkpahari is a completely remoted and offbeat weekend gateaway in Odisha. Located 243 kms from Kolkata, this unexplored village, located in Bangiriposi Block of Mayurbhanj district, Odisha. With only 78 families residing, Jhink Pahadi is a medium sized hamlet, only 4 kms away from the Bangriposi Rail station in Mayurbhanj district, Orissa. The name is derived from the words “jhink” which means “porcupine” and “pahadi” meaning “mountainous”.
Izifiso backpackers’ riverside camp in Jhink Pahadi is built on a secluded piece of riverbank. There are tents to live amidst nature located just a few meters away from the Burhabalang River. In the evening have a hearty meal of Latjeel chicken, a special tribal chicken preparation, and other delicacies sitting beside a campfire. Enjoy campfire, sumptuous meals, long treks along the banks of Burhabalang River for only 1300/- INR per head per day cost.
