Between winter and late spring (between mid-December to mid-April), a special event takes place in the emerald waters of the Yoshino River in Tokushima Prefecture. Fishermen shine bright lights on the currents at night to lure glass eels to the surface and fish them. These lights are not only attractive to the eels but to the photographers, too!
