Now this is what we call living life on the edge!
The cliff-hanging Shakuson-ji Temple is a 15-minute walk up a mountain path from the banks of the Chikuma River in Komoro, a town in eastern Nagano Prefecture.
The temple of Kannon and the palace within were built in the first half of the Kamakura Period (1185-1333) and are listed as Important Cultural Properties.
