Commuters might see something different when walking around Tokyo’s Shinjuku Station. A new 4K display showing a giant three-dimensional cat has been set up in the busy shopping and entertainment area, and it has captured the attention of many online. So what exactly is this digital billboard promoting? Well, nothing but good vibes. A spokesperson for one of the two companies running the display said they hope to raise the city’s spirits. “There are many reasons we decided to display the cat, but one of the big reasons is that with corona, the world became very dark,” Takayuki Ohkawa told The New York Times. “Through the cat display, we wanted to revive Shinjuku and make it brighter.” Click on the link in our bio to read more. 📸 Oscar Boyd (@oscar.boyd)
