Nijo Castle is one of seventeen Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto which have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Despite its “ancient” standing, the castle definitely knows how to embrace modernity, too! It’s been home to a number of fun illumination events that involve projection mapping in recent years, and hopefully there will be more in the future, too!
