On this day 75 years ago, the city of Hiroshima was hit by an atomic bomb, killing an estimated 70,000 people. With the average age of A-bomb survivors now eclipsing 85, organizations are scrambling to document their experiences. Chisako Takeoka waited until 2012 to tell her child what happened: “I had never told my story to my family, or even to my daughter. However, more and more hibakusha were dying.
