Watch the previous Japan vlog – cooking giant daikon @ Sakurajima:
Chiran is a town south of Kagoshima that very few visitors to Japan go to see, but it’s full of amazing sites. The first of which we visit is the Chiran Peace Museum for Kamikaze Pilots, a major testament against needless death in warfare. It was by far one of the most moving places I’ve been to.
Next, we go to the Chiran Samurai District, which is a well-preserved old-style neighborhood full of traditional Japanese gardens. Fun fact: Kagoshima used to have one of the highest Samurai per-capita in Japan.
NOTE: This was shot in JANUARY – well before COVID. I have a big backlog of footage because I was focusing on graduating from university 🙂

* I have the Japan-exclusive HDR CX680, but the only difference from the CX675 is extra internal storage
** I have the older model, the HD60 (not the HD60s). The new model is better, and the old one costs way more, since it’s no longer made.
