Feb 2020 – The fourth stop of my Kyushu journey is Saga, a calm, historic city packed with enigmatic charm. Saga Prefecture is relatively less explored among international travellers, it is famous for its scenic shrines, onsens, parks and it even has an international balloon festival annually. However what striked me the most is Saga city’s diverse mix of architecture: from archaeological settlements from the Yayoi Period ((300 BC to 300 AD), Japanese architecture back in the Edo Period, to even brutalist architecture such as the Ichimura Memorial Gymnasium, Saga Prefecture Library and Saga Prefecture Museum. The city is accessible via JR / Shinkansen from Hakata Station, the journey takes around 45 minutes. The itinerary for this trip includes Yoshinogari National Park, Saga Castle and Ichimura Memorial Gymnasium.

Music – Into the Fossil by Biba Dupont / Artlist

Still travelling film series document my journey to different parts of Japan. They portray my minimalist, laid-back approach to travel. The film consists of mostly moving stills. There are minimal camera movements and editing, no talking, just pure visuals, bgm and ambience sound that focus on the broader landscape, mundane happenings and small details that amazed me along the way.
