The FULL walk to the Japanese Snow Monkeys!
What is it actually like to visit Japanese snow monkeys in winter? How long does it take to walk to the snow monkeys? Are the snow monkeys worth it?
This could be the most popular thing to do in winter in Japan and I regularly get those questions about the snow monkeys in Nagano. So rather than tell people what it’s like and what to expect, I thought the best way to explain it would be to show it!
Come along with me on this beautiful walk through the mountain forest for a perfect winter walk to the snow monkeys. You will see the pretty scenery, winter sounds, and overall peace and quiet of nature.
This video is the FULL WALK to the snow monkeys to help others experience, prepare, or walk the path once again.
I’m sure you will have a bunch of questions and if you watch the video carefully all the answers will be revealed. I take my time to stop at each sign along the way and give viewers the chance to learn the high level information.
You can also indulge in watching the snow monkeys bathe and play in the snow as I take my time for us all to enjoy the moment.
My goal for this video is to make it as interactive as possible while giving space for the viewers to independently decide how they like it. While you’re watching, let me know in the comments when you spot the first money! What stands out to you in this video and in the Japanese mountains? What did you learn? And tell me the differences you notice on the way versus the way back? Is there anything you can learn and take with you from this?
PLUS! There’s a hot spring waiting for us at the end of the video which is fully worth the soaking experience!

Wow! That’s quite a hike but beautiful, winter scenery along the way. Thank you for taking us along with you!
Very cool to see lots of people.
What a beautiful hike, and the monkeys are adorable! Are the monkeys there all year? Do you know what they were eating? I would like to go there someday. My husband loved this. He loves monkeys. Thanks for sharing 😊
Very interesting, beautiful countryside and lots of snow.
My Question has always been how do those monkeys even eat while everything is blanketed in snow? & Who would know the answer?
The park staff should only be allowed to ride The Honda Monkey to work & ban.the Honda Cub from going up the mountain LoL
Do enjoyed this video! I love that the wild monkeys are giving respect and the humans don’t over step the boundaries. The monkey’s behavior reveals such. 🥰

the monkeys in the snow where digging, what where they are looking for?
Nice, I went about 10 years ago. It was very late in the season and not that much snow left. I loved going to the resort town when it was almost empty though.
Monkey shit everywhere

Thanks man
Loved the snowy walk.
I love these types of videos. I'm a wheelchair user and walks like this are near impossible for me. It is lovely to be able to experience, even through a screen. My fiance and I watch your videos and dream of living in Japan one day. I was born in Okinawa and visited again in 2018. The accessible transportation was amazing. ❤ We are planning to visit again for our honeymoon. Please keep sharing your experience and perspective. It is so, so valuable!
