*Japan Coast Guard Academy training ship “Itsukushima” open to the public in Kobe Port*
Japan Coast Guard Academy is an educational institution that trains senior officers for the Japan Coast Guard.
It is located in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and the ship’s name is derived from “Itsukushima” (Miyajima) in Hiroshima City,
which is a designated World Heritage Site.
This is a training ship built for the purpose of boarding training for Japan Coast Guard Academy students.
The latest training ship, which was launched in July 2024, is equipped with a two-tiered bridge, a 20mm cannon, and a high-speed security and rescue boat.
The ship entered Kobe Port for the first time on January 28, 2025, and the inside of the ship was opened to the public.

広島県呉市にあり、船名は、世界遺産に認定されている広島市の「厳島（いつくしま）」（宮島）を由来としています。
海上保安大学校生の乗船訓練を目的として建造された練習船です。
2024年7月に就航した最新の練習船で二段構造のブリッジ、20mm機関砲、高速警備救難艇を搭載しています。
神戸港に初入港し、船内が2025年1月28日一般公開されました。
