This video shows you around the eastern area of central Asahikawa.
As those who have visited this town may know, many of the restaurants, izakayas, and other tourist spots in central Asahikawa are concentrated on the west side of the main shopping street, while the east side tends to have more offices.
Of course, it’s not like other major cities with impressive office districts, but if you walk just two or three streets east from the main shopping street, you’ll quickly find a local, authentic atmosphere.
This time, I walked a bit further to explore a nostalgic shopping district that was once called the heart of Asahikawa.
Also, I passed by several well-known Asahikawa ramen shops along the way, so I hope this helps as a reference for distance if you’re planning to visit for yummy ramen.
