Not far from the market, you’ll find Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine, a small yet significant shrine. At the entrance, there’s a statue of an ox. It’s believed that touching the ox brings good luck to students, making it a popular ritual before important exams. Many students visit this serene place of worship to pray for academic success, leaving behind ema (wooden plaques) with their wishes and prayers.
