Togakushi Shrine

Togakushi Shrine, located in Nagano Prefecture, is a historic shrine and one of Japan’s most famous power spots.
To reach the Oku-sha (Inner Shrine) and Kuzuryu-sha, you’ll need to walk and climb about 2 km from the entrance parking lot.
The approach to the shrine, lined with towering cedar trees, is stunning but requires considerable stamina—so stay determined!
In spring, you can enjoy fresh greenery; in summer, lush foliage; in autumn, vibrant autumn colors; and in winter, a breathtaking snowy landscape.
However, during winter, you’ll need to walk on snow-covered paths, so take care to avoid slipping.
We visited in the fall this time and were able to enjoy the beautiful autumn foliage as we made our way up.
