I learned how to make melon bread for my brother’s Christmas gift. It took me 4 tries to get close enough. Still room for improvement though. I froze and sealed a dozen to be baked off individually.
This is a bit self serving as they are also my favorite. My most reoccurring nightmare is that it the last day on a trip to Japan. Then I realize I haven’t gotten any Mellon bread from the 7-11. Also worth noting. My wife is a classically trained pastry chef. But won’t make these for me because they are a giant pain in the ass.
