Ever thought of spending New Year in Japan, surrounded by snow? Our first trip to Sapporo in Hokkaido was a unique experience—so different from back home. No fireworks, many stores closed, and nothing extravagant, but that’s what made it special. It was quiet, reflective, and gave us our first snowy holiday. This was part of an 18-day Japan trip. We landed in Tokyo, then took the Shinkansen to Hakodate (about 4 hours) and another train to Sapporo (around 3.5 hours).
