When Jpop artists do concert they bring their live bands staff members with them
But K-pop artists do concerts without live bands they only play CD behind
Real music fans are not into K-pop ?!

I’m sorry, but I think they got confused with jopping from r/kpoopheads

Live bands… Suuuuuuure. Some do, but by far not everyone can afford that. Backtracking is still pretty huge.

K-Pop is hyper-famous at the moment. You can’t even open a GIF-website without thousands of K-Pop-gifs. hey are everywhere. K-shows and -movies are also way more internationally streaming/sold than Japanese movies.

I want this to be true but, I’ve never heard a jpop song on the radio. I remember before Gangnam style I was hearing 2ne1 every blue moon. And seeing people waving blackjack signs on Monday night raw

Kpop is much more popular internationally than jpop is. Mvperry’s audience pertains more to fandoms that happen to like jpop more so this I’m sure was related to his audience specifically. But in general kpop is the more known niche of the two.

And the thing with backtracks varies. Sometimes there will be a live band for Kpop shows but the majority of the time there won’t be, especially for tour concerts. Also important to note that more jpop artists are literal bands themselves or have less electronic music therefore it would make more sense. There are idol-bands in Kpop however where the members do play instruments.

Kpop is more geared toward international promotion not only in terms of sound but literal promotional efforts which is why it’s more known compared to jpop, where international fans are overlooked and accessibility is hard. It’s gotten easier for both as time has went on, but overall kpop has done much more for western and international recognition than the majority of jpop acts have.

  6. I love J-pop and I don’t care about K-pop but these rage baits are nothing but nonsense.

Hearing or reading the phrase “*Real* [music] fans are not into…” automatically causes my brain to disregard your shitty opinions about music/books/movies etc. “real” fans vs “fake” fans is so goddamn tired and trying to incite animosity Against a thing is such a poor way to spend your time instead of trying to bring people into getting to know more about the thing(s) you enjoy.

Look at billboard hot 100 at any given moment, that’s all I’ll say
