Drew’s Trip to Tokyo: Face Bread, Toilet Music, and Donki
In November 2024, I was invited by CY of Tokyo Station Pens and Kyuseido to Tokyo. I attended the Tokyo International Pen show, made an appearance on CY’s podcast (Tokyo Inklings) and was guided around Tokyo for a few days. In this video, I recap my trip by clicking through my photos and videos that I took – and try to remember all of the highlights. In retrospect, I definitely missed a lot (I didn’t even mention the podcast, for example)! Anyway, here’s what I have.

Nobody is ready for Donki. I needed to find a decompression zone after any visit to Donki. We were also staying at Asakusa back in 2019, so I made sure to schedule a trip to the local sento (public bath house with onsent water) afterwards. Sadly the sento was scheduled to close down about a month after we left.
You will need to "hack" your Wii to play Japanese games on it. It's actually not too hard to do and do not require modifyhing anything physically about the console, just some strange software stuff. Once it's done you can even get emulators for old console and do a lot of interesting stuff
