I’ve only visited Japan once (Tokyo and the surrounding area), and after 6 days, felt like I could live there. Kyoto and Fuji-san are on my list of must visit cities.
Todd shooting mirrorless full frame cameras? I was expecting at least a 4×5 field camera.😊
I was in Kyoto last month and it's just an amazing place to be. I took some photos and haven't had a chance to curate and upload to my site. I live in Hong Kong so thankfully it's not very far to travel to.
One of your best! I love Japan! For reasons unknown, I understand much of their way of life! Even deciphered their modern writing! Enjoy remainder.Hokkaido?
Cool trip video. Most Shoguns didn’t rule from Kyoto which was the Imperial City, except during the Ashikaga Shogunate which had a Northern Court in Kyoto and a Southern Court in Yoshino. Kamakura was the capital city of the first shogunate of the same name and Edo (Tokyo) for the last Tokugawa shogunate capital city.
I took a trip to japan a few years ago. Divided my time there between Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. I left Osaka early and went back to Kyoto to finish my trip. I absolutely loved Kyoto. The city was spared bombing in WWII thankfully.
I was in Kyoto a few days before you ~ how did you get so many shots without the crowds? Everywhere I went I waited and waited for a moment without people! Love the way you get a Leica look from the Sony.
Hey Todd, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, would you love to have a logo for your channel that is large and medium format inspired to have an abstract and artistic branding that represent you in a fun and memorable way which can attract new audience and clients even better and also as merchs print and trademark of your hardworks as well? Let me know if you interested and I would love to work with you on your logo and possible many more artwork for your brand elements too! 🙂
Glad that you enjoy Japan. Now you covered the major cities, please head to more obscure places like Kyushu island (where I live). Anyway, great video and images! Cheers from Japan. 😃
Wonderful to see your images of Kyoto todd and your philosophy which guides all of your work be it here in Kyoto or back home in canada . zen billings.
