LIVING in FUKUOKA | No.14 | Fukuoka’s Hidden Gems
I live in Fukuoka.
And this is a vlog of my ordinary days.
What makes Fukuoka livable is the food.
Fukuoka’s staple food is Ramen, but there are so much more.
This week, I decided to focus on these “Hidden Gems”. Only a few that I visited in between my remote work and to have work related meetings. These places are not on a guide book much nor talked about on SNS either. But they offer “value”.
I gurantee you will not be disappointed.

▶Yanagibashi Rengo Market ｜柳橋連合市場
It is the locals’ kitchen, one of the oldest local markets in Fukuoka for housewives to professional culinary chefs. There are 35 shops inside. Recently, travelers from all over the world visit here for their seafood bowls.
▶Hiromu - 博六
A sister shop to F-concept, both located inside Yanagibashi Rengo Market.
Why Hiromu is a hidden gem is because people do not know about this place yet but the quality and the price of the food is just as great or surpassthe neighborhood diners who also offer seafood dishes.

▶Takoshogetsu ｜蛸松月
Since 1935.
Now the ４th generation, Wagashi （Japansese sweet）master has been trained fror 5 years at Suetomi 「末富」in Kyoto, one of the most renowned Wagashi shops in Japan.
If you do not know about the story, you will definitely pass by but the value they offer is guranteed.

▶Namonaki-kissaten ｜名もなき喫茶店
“El Rocio Cup 2024” Fukuoka champion, Asia 3rd – balista offers good coffee & desserts
at the 5th floor of the hostel “Kommondo” in Fukuoka.
Many cafe-hoppers visit here for the dessert but I came here to eat lunch this week.
Lunch is offered only occasionally and this week, it was Ló͘-bah-pn̄g魯肉飯 .
I paired with Taiwan tea which was also fragrant and soothing.
Very friendly balista, Shota san, adds charm to this cafe.
Free-wifi available for remote workers and nomad.

▶Como es Imaizumi
A small cafe located in between Yakuin & Tenjin in the small street.
Opening the red door, when you enter inside, good LP music & nice coffee welcomes you.
(my recommend Yama Chai with soy milk , lemonade ) The coffee beans are from coffee county. They have free-wifi and I like coming here to work sometimes.

▶cotton | with the style hotel
When I want to change a mood, I come here for lunch.
With the style is a fashionable hotel in the middle of Hakata and the restrant “cotton” offers
good western / Italian in reasonable price.
Food is excellent, the atmosphere(interiors, tones, music) is sophisticated that the satisfication is high. If you are in mood for something besides Japanese food, at any occations, this place is a good place to dine.
What I had : Pasta lunch ( Kale salad with homemade orange dressing, freshly baked table roll, Swordfish oil pasta, coffee ) for 1,500 yen
