I was for one week in Nishinari in Osaka, nothing bad about it. I felt safe and no one cared about me there 🙂

Hi Toshi I will be in Namba for my trip at the end of January 2025 I will be there for 3 days then I will take the night train to Tokyo
When I’m in town I always stay at hotel benkyo beya. Highly recommended. Second is moshimoshi piero
Just did a 9 day trip. 5 tokyo, 4 osaka.
Osaka was a let down, stayed near dotonbori/namba planning to spend most of my time around there.
Hotel was great but area was horrible, way too many people and more tourists than locals. Lines for food everywhere, people stopping in the middle of walkways to take the dumbest tourist photos.
I went south for some anime/figurine shops in den den town, that was good (but not as good as akihabara in tokyo). Checked out the castle, it was amazing and worth the trip.
Id suggest to anyone to minimise their time in osaka. Tokyo has everything but better and less concentrated so tourists are spread thinner.
i stayed at tennoji area, in a very affordable hotel, "osaka ebisu hotel" with great room!
Awesome tips, Toshi! informative video. what would be your recommendation on railway passes. Bit confused on which one to purchase for 3 adults. Plan is to visit osaka and kyoto mainly and spend a day in tokyo. Is it advised to rent a car instead? Thanks.
