■Kyoto, Fushimi Inari Taisha ShrineThe “Senbon Torii”, a row of vermilion-painted torii gates, is worth a visit! We then climbed to the summit of Ichinomine, 233m above sea level, and paid our respects.
Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of the 30,000 Inari shrines (Oinari-san) in Japan, and the JR and Keihan lines are adjacent to the approach to the shrine, making it very accessible.
