*** IZUMO GRAND SHRINE ***
The highlight of our journey will be discovering the mystical Izumo Taisha Shrine, one of Japan’s oldest and most significant shrines, and its connection to Japanese mythology. It is also known for a shrine to find a romantic partner!
***INASA BEACH*** Another sacred place and known to be where all the Gods gather every year to “plan” for the following year.
***TSUWANO OLD TOWN*** This one has been one of the greatest surprise of my trip! I was here because I heard that there was a site for the “hidden christians” only to find out that the whole town in itself is an opportunity to learn about Japan and feel the warmth of the local people. You could easy spend the whole day here.
Many travelers overlook Shimane in favor of more popular destinations, missing out on its rich culture, history, and stunning landscapes.
