Otaru is a MUST VISIT if you’re ever in Sapporo!

So on my second official day exploring Sapporo, first time during day, I went up and explored the nearby Sapporo TV Tower and found exceptional views of the famous snow filled Odori Park. It was truly a sight to behold and made for some excellent shots during the day.

Unfortunately I missed the snow festival which would have been really cool to experience but I was in Seoul during the time and just missed out on. I could of planned my trip around it but to be honest when I found out about it, it was a bit too late so most of the hotels were booked out for those dates. Oh well, there’s always next time…

In this video I also take a half day out to Otaru, a place I heard was a solid day trip from Sapporo, and with the Snow Light Festival still on (which happens after Sapporo’s snow festival which makes viewing both on the same trip very doable), it sure was…

Otaru, while very cold, was great. Mt. Tengu, one of three major night views in Hokkaido, was insane. The canals were really nice. But everything was enhanced by the winter festival there, which made the vibe even better.
