Hey everyone!
I recently became completely obsessed with NEMONEMO by Yena. While she is a Kpop artist a lot of people have been saying that it very much sounds like Jpop. I do have a few japanese songs on my playlists but nothing that quite fits this specific style – the only song that does is Greedy Greedy by..Kuromi lol. Does this specific style have a name or do you have any artists that you could recommend to me that sound similar to either song?
I tried checking out the composer but that didn't get me very far.

Probably only NiziU. I personally think that song doesn’t sound that much like a jpop song in the first place but more like a typical Japanese release by a Korean artist.
Kpop-wise there’s QWER! I believe they used the same songwriter for some of their songs too
Jpop-wise need to think about it a little more, but may have some recs for it too
I think I got a couple that could be similar. I am also a new-ish jpop fan that has been a kpop fan for much longer.

I feel the song is directly inspired by the song ‘Kyururin Sitemite’ that went viral on TikTok and NEMONEMO just sounds like a Kpop version of it so you can start there.
The artist of that song, Kyururin de Shitemite, makes a lot of similar songs to that viral song. I’d also recommend DECO*27 that makes a lot of similar songs to that style like ‘Aitai-Lians’. FRUITS ZIPPER also has a song called ‘Watashi Ichiban Kawaiitokoro’ that sounds similar.
