I bought this box of miso soup last year so I’m surprised to see that it has listed October 2023 as a best before date.
Am I reading this wrong?
I’m wondering because of the +N2/+N2/+D2 underneath the date.
Also, what is the R signify that follows the date?

It does say that October 2023 is the best before date but it’s probably fine since it’s processed.
No idea what those additional letters and numbers mean, sorry!
The best before date is the 9th of October 2023.
賞味期限 is the “best consumption date” meaning, taste will detiorate after that,. But since miso is for preservation… i guess its ok?
