This famous Japanese bakery in Ginza is so overrated | Tokyo, Japan

If you’re not going into the experience expecting bread that’s out of the ordinary then you may not be disappointed. We just wanted to eat good bread and those hopes were dashed. From dense crumb structure to an unpleasant, playdough-like, raw wheat smell, and a cloyingly sweet French toast, there were a lot of things we were surprised about, especially for a luxury bakery in Tokyo’s Ginza district that’s supposed to have bread good enough to warrant a price tag over ¥1,000 a loaf.

If you like it, good for you. There’s nothing wrong with having tastes that don’t align with ours. It’s in our own opinion that the price doesn’t reflect the quality of the product, and it sure isn’t worth queueing for, even if you’re still keen to try it out. In any case, details are below.

  1. Ah wellz, A for effort. A pity that there was little to gain this time in the pursuit of knowledge and experience.

On a side note, I am very curious about the weekly baking-bread venture. Perhaps you'd consider making vid(s) to share your insight on poundbread and/or the weekly results?

  2. I wouldn't go to a toast cafe personally but I also wouldn't put a shop down just because I didnt like it. You literally fell for the gimmick and now you're complaining that you did……its a toast with butter shop. Wtf did you expect? You made a conscious decision to go there on your trip to Japan. Tbh you kinda come off as whiney stuck up brat.
