  2. On the canned soup, when I was in the army, we would just toss our cans into the hot water we used for washing/sanitizing our messware. It was easier to do that, than to get our cooking gear dirty. The water was 120 F degrees about 49 C. Let it sit in there for 6-8 minutes and even cans of chili would be warmed up enough to eat.
