have you ever he of ibukuro In Tokyo ibukuro might not be a well-known City among International Travelers but it’s one of the three big train TS in west of Tokyo with Shinjuku and shauku is like a gate to Tokyo and C jail lines and private Railways coming from northern suburbs and three Tokyo Metro Subways lines bring passengers to other parts of Tokyo this is actually the third biggest station in the world buto is not a place commonly visited by TR from abroad this is probably because there aren’t much it’s been a shopping hub for locals but nothing special comparing with other parts of Tokyo but it is getting a spotlight in Tokyo as a subculture and entertainment City Center so today let’s try to discover or squeeze out the charm ofukuro it might be a good place to visit especially for ters coming here for after the second time the characteristic ofukuro is two private Railway to too line and sa iuk line are binding jail trucks and I cannot skip talking about the larg department stores to and sa located on the both side of the terminal so it’s a common mistake if you understand Chinese character but to which is written East is on the West exit save written West is on East exit you can do shopping in the department stores but there are three reasons to visit department stores one is restaurants on the top floors it offers variety of selections of foods it has clean restrooms and you don’t have to walk around the town to find restaurants you can use CR card for sure so unless you have a specific restaurant you like to eat in the town it’s a good place to look on restaurant too second reason to go to the department store a rooftop garden this one sa is the winner it has a nice Garden that you can relax and as you get coffee or sun snacks you can enjoy the rooftop air just like the parks top one is oldfashioned Rooftop in the summer Beer Garden opens I personally like this one too the third reason to go is the underground Food Shops called deach in Japanese you can pick Sushi da foods and sweets and bring back to your hotel to eat both department stores has a big selection underground Hood Mall the major attraction with kuko is on the east side of the station between the station and a tall building called Sunshine City the areas in the East exit area start to know as the one of the three sub culture and entertainment center of Tokyo with Akihabara and nakano there’s one of the largest anime store in the world animate recently opened some people say ibukuro is a real otaku culture center and older than Akihabara as Akihabara was a more electrionic town before the characteristic ofukuro is it’s more for subculture goods and Anime for female customers I’m very good at explaining about it but it can be stories that appeals to female readers the place you can see more of those stores for female customers Auto Lo along with the one side of the street you may see many shops of sub culture for female fund there are also lots of enter tainment place with kapon and crane games or arcade games one place is called gigle in this main store of the gigle you can see lots of crane games and do some arcade game but I not just for the modern subcultures can also see shops that are loved by locals for a long time takamura is a Japanese p shop started in 1929 kukuro it has many paper crust Goods that are perfect for your svans I got the origami made with a Washi which is a Japanese paper so it is said that Japanese paper long sometimes a thousand years depending on the quality because it’s made very strong with different plants is also known for Len district with lots of lamen shops and one symbol of store is Tai Shen open in 1961 the store moved and the owner changed and it seems lots of pro and con things reviewed by Ramy Enthusiast the store is well known for scaman and The Taste is very light and has a huge volume it might not fall everyone actually but in many meanings it’s a famous store so you can try it if you like to explore the world of scan when you are tired of the busy street let’s take a rest at takas a bakery running business for more than 100 years in ikuko on the first floor you can pick bread or cake and eat at the second floor feeding the air of iuk my favorite is this bread called casino with lot of sugar and fruit in it so this is the bread I got Tak this sugar coting is really good Sunshine city is a symbol of ikuro for a long time until they built Tokyo government building in Shinjuku Sunshine city was the tallest building in Japan it’s not the most popular observatory in Tokyo But Sunshine City Observatory is reasonable with 700 Yen on weekdays and since ik is located in the North edge of Tokyo City Center you can see all over Tokyo at one GL it’s recently renewed and you can enjoy the view of the Tokyo in interesting chairs and spaces my favorite is the oldfashioned garden around the building it was nicely decorated with the little miniature houses but most probably now this Shan city is known as the entertainment and shopping Hub there’s a Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo which is much bigger than the one in Shia Parco on the world import M connected to Sunshine City there’s a gashapon center which is biggest in the world and there’s a 3,000 kapon machines there’s also some little theme parks aquarium and Planetarium and it’s a place you can spend all day here it’s especially recommended for rainy days as it’s connected to hiashi kukuro station of Tokyo Metro Ure line and all facilities are indoor now let’s see the West exit of the kibo station the West exit is a little more quiet site but it has two interesting faces one is a town with University Park and theaters that are lead to the quet residential area at the park by the West exit you can sometimes see the free concert and another one is a busy red light district that are also becoming like a chinat toown recently with many authentic Chinese shops as you enter the district you see the cot coffee this is a coffee chain from China now trying to expand in Japan and I tried this restaurant called Shin chimi or shinen way it’s a restaurant opened more than 70 years ago by the Taiwanese founder they are famous for the noodle called tan which is like a Hoten sour soup lamen and I ordered this chahan rice set and it was really good [Music] now let’s see the surrounding area ofukuro if you keep going to the West there is a famous photo spot on SNS it’s in front of shi station just one station by sauro line from ikuro this space went somehow viral especially in the evening scenery if you take train one there’s also a town hiashi Nagasaki where you find anime towns where it is set Japanese animation history started if you go to the southeast side ofukuro it Contin to Zaya station you see all Temple ofjin and you see interesting steep continues to Shinjuku that shows ik is in Highland if you go a little more you see kokoki Temple this is one of the most attractive temple building in Tokyo that was built in 1697 kokui didn’t get damaged by great earthquake and air raise on World War I so it’s rare to see this historical building in Tokyo I hope you enjoy the K it might not be a place to come to visit for the first time visitors staying in Tokyo for a short time period but it’s a fun place to look around have a great trip to Tokyo have a great week until the next 1. Ikebukuro wasn't on my radar before but it definitely is now! Thank you for making this video 🙂

  2. Great video. I will say the Sunshine 60 is a hidden gem. It doesn't have the hype of Shibuya Sky but a) its higher, and b) youre not in the elements getting whipped around or subject to random non-refundable weather cancelations. Also, almost no lines. We saw TDR fireworks clearly from there at night.

  3. We considered going to Ikebukuro our first time, but never made it there. This was a very informative video about the area. I definitely want to see Ikebukuro. It looks like a fun place to go, with lots to see, eat, and do. ❤

  4. We went here just to eat at a Chicken Ramen store — 'Tori no Ana' IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!

Will go back to Ikebukuro to explore other things as well!
