New spot in Tokyo! PokéPARK KANTO! Hi, I’m Samurai Junjiro, born and raised in Japan. This video is about the upcoming Pokémon theme park that is planned to open. We’ll actually go there and explain detailed information on how to get there, along with tips on enjoying the surroundings.

We’ll cover some information that other channels haven’t shared, so please watch until the end! Now, let’s get started! The closest station to the place we’re introducing this time is Keio Yomiuri Land Station. It’s located in Inagi City, to the west of Tokyo.

It takes about 25 minutes by train from Shinjuku Station and about 30 minutes from Shibuya Station. From Keio Yomiuri Land Station to the destination,  you can either take a gondola lift or walk. It takes about 20 minutes on foot.

There are steep stairs, so it’s recommended to take the gondola lift  when going there and walk back. The fare for the gondola lift is 300 yen for a one-way trip. If you purchase a round-trip ticket, you’ll save 100 yen. The riding time varies depending on the crowdedness, but it’s typically about 5 to 10 minutes.

The view is fantastic, so be sure to give it a try! There is the entrance to the amusement park where you get off the gondola lift. This is Yomiuri Land, where the Pokémon theme park is planned to open.

There is a one-day pass, but you can also purchase admission tickets only. Also, there are individual tickets for each ride. Before we explain the Pokémon theme park, let us introduce how to enjoy Yomiuri Land. Yomiuri Land is an amusement park that opened in 1964, and there are currently 46 attractions.

Note that there are occasionally closed days, so please check on the official website. The link is in the description box. The most popular ride at Yomiuri Land is this roller coaster. It goes for a distance of 5,118 feet, twisting and turning, reaching a top speed of 68 miles per hour.

There is a limited-time winter illumination event at this place. This season, it’s available from October 2023 to April 7, 2024. It’s recommended to purchase an After Pass ticket, which allows entry from 3 PM,  because the illumination starts at 4 PM. It’s 2,700 yen cheaper than the one-day pass.

There are also many restaurants within the park. Especially recommended is Bakudan-yaki Honpo. You can enjoy takoyaki that is about the size of your hand. There is also MARION CREPES, a popular shop in Harajuku where there is a line every day. You’ll find a BBQ restaurant with a view of the roller coaster, too.

Please check the official website, as they may have days when they are closed. If there are available seats, you can enjoy the BBQ even without a reservation. There is also a sea lion show, which is held 3 or 4 times a day.  The fee is included in the one-day pass and the after-pass ticket.

By the way, next to Yomiuri Land, a hot spring facility will open in March 2024.  It’s elevated, so you can enjoy an open-air bath while taking in the beautiful scenery.  If you visit Yomiuri Land, please check it out! Now, let us explain the Pokémon theme park that will newly open.

It’s the experiential attraction PokéPARK KANTO, where you can feel Pokémon in a forest surrounded by lush greenery. It’s named after the Kanto region, which serves as the setting for the 1996 release of “Pokémon Red and Green”. The official website states, ‘A space where Pokémon fans from around the world can enjoy together,

Transcending country, region, and language barriers.’ Therefore, we think it will be a theme park that people from countries other than Japan can also enjoy. By the way, at Yomiuri Land, there was Pokémon Wonder, where you could search for Pokémon in the forest, from July 2021 to April 2022.

It was an experiential attraction where you can search for over 50 different Pokémon in the forest spanning about 4,500 square meters, untouched for about 20 years. Detailed information hasn’t been announced yet. In our speculation, we think it will be open at the same location. We don’t know the opening day or fees yet.

Once we get more details, we’ll share them again in a video, so please subscribe to this channel and stay tuned! If there is any place you’d like to know about, let us know in the comments! Well, that’s it for today! See you in the next video!
