Tokyo Ameyoko Market in Ueno Walk

Let’s walk around Tokyo’s Ameyoko Market. After that we’re checking out Ueno Park, one of the major parks in Tokyo.

  1. Crickets can be fried and would be crunchy. I would try them. Are the huge grapes (and other "perfect" and expensive fruits) cultivated by crossbreeding or are they genetically modified?

  2. Love walking tour videos. The underground market was a cool surprise. Satoshi and the cupcake scene was the best! 😂 Take care❤

  3. Insects are a good source of protein. I've had chocolate covered crickets but my favorite is fried meal worns I've had several different flavors of meal worms and they're delicious. I'd love to try that cricket ramen.

  4. Yes UENO vid and Tokyo!!! Nice to see a japan vid shinichi!!!! 😁👍🏻👍🏻
Yes when we went a few times to Ueno zoo it’s so nice to see the pond with all the Lilly’s and the back drop of Azabu buildings!!!👌🏻

  5. While Ueno has lost much of her old Tokyo feel, it's still the home of our favorite ramen place, 上野 麺屋武蔵 武骨相傳.

  6. Hi Shinichi❤ Hi Satoshi ❤ l want plan to stay in Ueno when l visit Thanks for showing us the neighborhood ❤.

  10. I love these walk videos! also from the lesser known areas in the city.

As a student I came to Ueno often as I lived in Yanaka. I went to the market for some fruits and veggies etc. but the market could be so crowded. And I remember that department store at the end of the ameyoko cho; it was like a maze, but you could find some good deals on there. It was great to be back there this summer even if it was only for an afternoon in the park. Saya was so happy with the saved ice and that she was allowed to put as many flavors syrup on top of it as she wanted.

I didn't know you could eat cicada😶 If it powdered and you mix it through something I have no problem with it. whole crickets is not my favorite, I had it once.

  11. Your memory is deceiving you my dear Shinichi, the Sega Saturn used CDs. Certain games had cartridges that expanded the RAM but those were only a few. Maybe you meant the Sega Mega Drive (Sega Genesis in other regions) instead?

  12. I love these neighborhood walks! Thank you for sharing these experiences with us.
