Hi Friends, 👋

This is our 2 days 1 night island’s adventure 🏝️ . We were island hopping at Shikoku area.

Firstly, we visited Awashima. It is about 30km away from Murakami in northern Niigata prefecture.

Awashima is a small island so it can be explored easily by foot or bicycle. One of the main attraction for us to visit the island is the experience of staying in a small town. There was not many tourist. The town was very quiet. But the locals are very friendly.

We stayed at Le port. The room type we chose was cabin. (So we stayed in a cabin for a night) The cabin can fit up to 5 people. The cost is per person so no worry you are travelling alone or less than 5 people. 🏕️

Included in the accommodation were dinner (outdoor BBQ dinner under sky ✨ ) and also chance to see sea fireflies ✨ 🤩. It was a rare chance for us to see it and it was amazing. Breakfast was also included. It was Japanese style breakfast.

The next day, we took early ferry and train to be back to Takamatsu and we headed to Naoshima. Waoo it was an art island. We visited 2 museums and 1 of it was Chichu Museum. The building itself was an art piece. It was worth visiting. It was designed by Tadao Ando. Also, not forgetting the well known pumpkins. The iconing Yayoi Kusama’s pieces 🤩

After exploring Naoshima, we headed back to Takamatsu and had ramen for our dinner 🍜 . Yummy… Btw, something unique about Japan. Takamatsu is well known as udon town. Other than art town (a lot of museum), Naoshima is also well known for as olive town. Japan is so unique and attractive.

We really enjoyed our time at Shikoku and wish to to return back someday. Definitely, next time we want to stay overnight at Naoshima and have leisure time to visit all the museums. It will definitely be a very unique experience.

Thank you for watching. Hope you enjoy today vlog.

Cheers,

Kath
