I’m finally in Indonesia! Batam Island first impressions!
Previous video from Sentosa Island, Singapore ➡️ https://youtu.be/kcSa0E1QJTU?si=um-EYgMRsKhUWWgR
Join me on the journey from Singapore to Batam Island, Indonesia. Just a short ferry ride away, there is an island in front of Singapore that belongs to Indonesia. Batam Island is also a popular holiday destination for people from Singapore as prices there are way lower. I am keen to explore Batam city and then continue my journey into Indonesia from there on. Indonesia is probably the most requested country on my channel, so I am very happy and super excited to finally start an Indonesia series! Have you been to Indonesia yet? Let me know in the comments.

The difference between Malaysian and Indonesian is that Malaysian is influenced by English and Indonesian is influenced by Dutch
Start to learn bahasa Indonesia, dont speak english. Aftar one month, u will fluent bahasa Indonesia, believe me
Come to Muar town…at Johor
Ken if you wish to travel around Indonesia especially in Batam tried avoiding those non meter taxi at counter they will usually charge higher price then normal I would recommend you taking Grab as far as possible but if there isn’t any grab you could use Bluebird taxi or any of Bluebird subsidiary as they are well trusted and their meter are not rigged but if you do see if there are rigged you can report it immediately to the customer service department
Hi Ken, nice vlog. Fyi, there are ferry from batam to jakarta. Ship name is KM KELUD. Maybe you can try google it. I took it before more than 20 years ago 😅
Mango blended
You should have asked her NOT to add syrup (gula) into the mango juice
I got that funny feeling that you would be taking a lot of detour in sumatra island and will end up exploring all the way to Bali without flight.
I would suggest that since you are already near to Sumatra Island, head to Dumai – Pekan Baru – Padang – Jambi – Palembang – Lampung – Banten – Jakarta. And since you are already travelling on land, just do the train ride from Jakarta to Bandung then to Jogja (from Jogja you can still be able to use the train Surabaya and head towards Bayu Wangi to cross to Bali, I did that trip years back, best journey of my life 😊
hi Ken, maybe just for your input to travel to jakarta no flight. Please refer to this malaysian traveler. He travel from medan to jakarta just with local help. https://youtu.be/7P3CGFyGmGk?si=fFN112dzZSz33aLw
Take care. 🇵🇭
Dumai try avoid not really safe
Sending support new friend team jeorgina
Batam people are amazingly friendly. I think due to lockdown, they missed the tourists especially Singaporeans because we were a chunk of their tourism revenue. If Im not wrong their president wont allowed export Indonesian goods so that people can come over to Indonesia.
Semoga liburan km menyenangkan di Indonesia 👍🇮🇩
try meeting BULE BARBIE…she's a German who lives in Indonesia
Hope you enjoy the journey in Indonesia.
The price travelling with ferry compared to flight is more the less within Indonesia as my personal experience. With the time you take on the ferry to destination it much worth for you to just take a flight straight to Jakarta.
Wünsche dir viel Spass in Indonesien! 🇮🇩
* Ok gerade in deinem Nepal Video gesehen, dass du schon auf Bali warst und auch e-SIM kennst 😅 Aber wieso hast du denn für hier keine e-SIM gekauft?
I like your go with the flow, unique and true travel experience 👍 Great and enjoyable video as usual 😊
There's motorbike rental in nagoya area. Nmax is just nice for touring around Batam city n surrounding area. Batam is happening n busy at night wth streetfoods that is good to try esp in bengkong area sometimes confuse wth Thailand. Maybe not many westerners except in kampung bule area n certain resorts
Ken, when will you upload our trip from Kuala Tungkal to Jambi City?
We just spent some time on Batam too! We had a good time and we relaxed a lot 🙂 We also visited Bintan from Batam, really easy
Tq for sharing
Interesting to follow you on how you can go to jakarta without a flight..i follow you since the covid..im from malaysia..gud luck bro
Selamat Datang di Indonesia.
You can take a ship to Jakarta… try googling PT. PELNI (Indonesian passenger ship company)
Ken, why there is no more song "Honey.. Honey" at the end of your vlog? 😊
Grab is legal in Batam island but they are not allowed to pick up passengers right in front of the ferry terminal due to the business competition with the taxi
Fantastic
Let's explore Indonesia 🇮🇩 together 😊
I think what she meant unlimited data plan is because you can still use it after 32gb but the speed will drop/slower because of fair usage, not exactly unlimited.
Indonesian language is basically modified malay language, combined with other native language, Indonesian can understand 70 to 80% malay language.
Have a nice stay in Indonesia 🙂
Bule in Indonesia it's mean for people with white skin not foreigners bro 😁
Greeting from Jakarta 😊
if u think batam is cheap, batam is one of the most expensive place in indonesia😂
Be careful in Indonesia (we call it “Indon”) 🇵🇱, Ken. Indonesia is a poor country, the poorest one in Southeast Asia. Indonesians are also not friendly and not English speakers, unlike Malaysians. Pickpockets and terrorists wait on every corner of Indonesian street. Indonesian street foods are worse than Indian 🇮🇳 street foods. You'll end up hospitalized for long time because food poisoning. Salam 🙏🏻 and love ❤️ from your Malaysian subscriber and fan. I hope you come back to Malaysia 🇲🇾 as soon as possible.
DONT TAKE GRAB FROM ANY FERRY TERMINAL OR AIRPORT IN BATAM…
THEY CHARGE DOUBLE…
IF U ARRIVES FROM BATAM CENTER FERRY TERMINAL YOU CAN BOOK GRAB FROM MEGA MALL JUST OPPOSITE THE FERRY TERMINAL…YOU NEED TO CROSS THE STREET BY TAKING THE PEDESTRIAN OVERHEAD BRIDGE
INDONESIA IS A HUGE COUNTRY WITH MANY ISLANDS WITH BEAUTIFUL SCENERY…YOU SHOULD VISIT OTHER ISLANDS IN INDONESIA…BATAM IS JUST ONE OF THEM
THERE IS NO DIRECT FERRY OR BOAT FROM BATAM TO JAKARTA…
THE BEST IS TAKE A FLIGHT FROM HANG NADIM AIRPORT IN BATAM TO JAKARTA AIRPORT CENGKARENG
Very dangerous journey for anyone to go to Jakarta by land. You will expose to so many risks. Dont trust anyone, especially 'kind/helpful' person.
I really wanna go to Batam, but I'm confused which way is easier, from Johor Bahru or from Singapore 😖 because I'm a Malaysian who work in SG, and I don't know what documents I'd need to get into Batam
I’m literally a loyal customer of Grab too but only in Singapore😁 Currently 🇸🇬 still don’t have motorbike as taxi service now😂 It’s 👍🏼 for man to travel alone but definitely not too safe for any female travellers😅 but I still think man who travel to any unfamiliar country still have to look out esp. when some local might try to scam / cheat you for money. I still remember words from a tour guide telling us not to give donation to street beggars or performers because you give 1, the next comes and so on. Just stay safe & be careful. Enjoy your trip as I really enjoyed watching all your travelling vids😁
Wow mantap good evening thank you keren Jakarta Indonesia
Bahasa Indonesia & Bahasa Malaysia are from bahasa Melayu .. same language with different slangs depend on the areas
Indonesia coconut water & mango juice is the best
I Just subscribed your channel , it's quite interesting journey i visited Batam 8 years ago and it has developed since then , I am curious how you will get to Jakarta without taking an airplane, from Jakarta , then you can go to Bandung City taking High Speed Train called Whoosh.
31:00 they're not saying a bad jokes, they just confused and desperate to communicate with you😅.
Suka Dengan channel dan gaya kamu saudaraku..😃
Selamat datang di Indonesia.
…
There is a saying bro.
Malu bertanya sesat di jalan.
Banyak bertanya jalan jalan
( Hesitate to.ask you'll get lost, to many ask you get to walk on foot)
…..
Don't forget to find out about any kinda bussines you can run in here
….
I'd like to contact you bro… how
it is unlimitted, but in Indonesia.. we have thiss bulls thing about Fair Usage Policy. Thus, you can still use data after 32 GB but the speed is reduced to unusable 3G speed (instead of 4G speed).😅
It is a “almost a scam” by our telco really 😂😂
You want cheap Grab service you need to walk further outside Ferry Terminal and order Grab from side road😂.
the taxi drivers are very much against grab especially at the start of the app launch in batam…
