How’s Singapore Airline’s 787-10 Regional Flat Bed Business Class in 2023? Check out this 4K Trip Report & Honest Unsponsored Review on board a Singapore Airlines Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City.
Hi there! My name is Kevin and today we will take a deep dive into Singapore Airlines’ shortest 787-10 route to Vietnam. Starting off at Singapore’s Changi airport, we will have a look around the terminals, visit the SilverKris Lounge, take a deep dive into the onboard product (seat, amenities & my graphics), have a really great breakfast and of course we will wrap it up with The Flip Flop Score.

This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that’s the way I like it!

Loved this!
Hell yeah! I'm so looking forward to my flight in December this year!
My aircraft is the A350-900 though X3
👍
Keeping track of lounge-access rights: now more difficult than financial derivatives trading.
Found myself doing some advance planning for a return Heathrow-Changi flight, a month out, and was surprised to see Singapore coming in the cheapest. Good, I want to fly 'em.
Tip top review.
love your review!
Hey! i've a question. Am connecting in SGN, arriving at 6.25pm and departing again at 11.25. First time landing on VN soil and was wondering if leaving the airport is feasible? Also, does one need to remove one's shoes at security? Thanks so much.
Equipment swap? Usually only the evening SQ186 is a 787-10. Look forward to having their new 737 MAX featured in the channel in the near future.
Once again a great tripreport. You're gonna grow so fast, one of the best tripreporters on youtube!👍
I'd love to try SQ'S 78X and 737 max, especially in business. It'll come down to if they fly them anywhere I would want to go to.
You wore shorts and flip-flops in business class?
If my visa comes through, I’ll be on this morning flight in the next week. Did you find transiting between terminals 2 and 3 easy? I want to go to Kris Silver Lounge. Thx and appreciate the video.
Nice thorough review. I have an upcoming flight BKK-SIN on a SQ 787-10 and I reserved the same seat as you. I made sure to avoid 16A which has a misaligned window.
Love your videos, though need to mention, SIA as we know it now did operate narrow bodies when it was set up in 1972, inheriting 707s and 737s from its predecessor MSA. Thereafter it did order and operated 727s and 757s up to the late 1980s I believe (and a single cargo 737 in the 90s)
I flew on SQ's 787-10 from Manila to Singapore at the end of last October. I was in business class and after 4 hours, I got off the plane with a slight backache. There seem to be a design issue with the seat's back rest; it's probably too curved. The business class seats on SQ's A350 and 777 are more back friendly.
I guess ppl wants City tours videos and that is not your agenda here ( flights and 5 stars hotels evaluations)!
Thanks for a “non paid” review.
Immensely enjoyable. I like the balance of your presence and the content. Really appreciate the details to help me see travel differently. The no-nonsense, fair tone is refreshing. Thank you.
Great review with appreciation and looking forward to the hotel reviews in Vietnam. We tried the Salinda Resort at Phu Quoc last year based upon your review. My wife loves it there and has been back twice not to mention friends and family who have also stayed there based upon our recommendation…
Thanks for video
I’m late to the party today…but thank you for a great review as always! Your channel is growing so fast, almost 30.000 subs! Great you will be making two flights with Asiana this year, haven’t heard or read anything about them in a long time. Really curious to find out what their service level is now.
Thanks
good vid as always. thanks for posting
I’m dreaming flying with Singapore airlines in to the future.❤❤
I have to offer a warning to those flying the SQ 787-10 in Business Class: If you happen to be a "person of size" you will need to select one of the seats closer to the aisle, because you may find it VERY difficult (if not impossible) to squeeze past the storage unit on the side! And you may find the seat itself rather too narrow for comfort. WHY did they scrap those lovely A330s which used to be deployed on their regional routes?
Ah… Memories. I used to work for MI, actually. Felt like a lifetime ago. Been a while since I've stepped in board an SQ flight. Made no sense when I lived in Singapore when they were so expensive, either work paid for my flights or I redeemed. So ever since I moved to Australia, I've not experience any of their new generation jets. I gotta say, SQ's regional product puts a lot of other airlines to shame. This is coming from me, just relegated to QF VA 737s as a regular travel diet. 😂
Love your videos. Will you release anything related to Ho Chi Minh for this November trip? I'm visiting soon and would love to visit your recommendations.
Love to see regional SQ flight reports. As usual, this flight (once departed) was up to high SQ standards. Are you aware of the Ibis Saigon Airport hotel? How good is the planespotting likely from there, as I have a 1 night layover in April, with no decent airport hotel around.
Thanks for the great video ! Just recently found your channel and am enjoying very much. We are headed to Bali, from Toronto, in the fall. Via EWR and SIN , on SQ Business. Looking at staying at UMA Como simply based on your perfect score . Keep up the great work !
The con of this seat is that it doesn't have a leg rest. It's nice and relaxing to watch a movie in a semi recline position with a leg rest up. Sometimes it's easier to dose of to sleep in this 'zero gravity' position.
Really enjoying your trip reports mate, really appreciate the balance and depth put into them – You'll be up with the at the very top of flight reviewers (in terms of reach) in no time so keep up the great work!. Very keen to check out SIA again soon post all the Covid border closures – SIA really appear to excel especially with there short to medium haul regional flight experiences!
Outstanding and full of resources trip report! Love it! I hope you fly more often and make loads of trip report videos in the near future!!
Great review Kevin ❤
Like this video. Will try SIA(B4 Singapore International Airlines ) d next time to SAigon .tried a couple times to other destinations
Great services n food .
I still prefer A350 over B777. The overhead lighting is terrible on the B777 but I had no issue on the A380. I would normally select a flight on the A350. Quieter.
I agree with everything you posted. That blanket is nasty! And I’m Singaporean.
07:08 – the pointy section on the top right of the tray table extends out as a 'rest' to make the table sturdy. Not too many people know.
Hello Kevin……another Faultless review…..I really Envy you Travelling a lot …. wish I could be like you hehehe……Safe Travels every time and God Bless you always.
Those rough patches on the cockpit windows are residual left from Covid era when these planes have to stay on the tarmac waiting to be flown again. During those times windows would be covered up with speed tapes and shades to prevent heat up inside the cabin that could cause damage to avionics inside the cockpit and cabin furniture. When these planes go back into service, peeling off those speed tapes would more likely to leave residual marks, as seen on your particular 78X in the video.
Anyway, I’m glad you prefer the A350 👍 (from an “unbiased” A350 pilot)
Great video
Wow, you really are a flip flop traveller…. tootsies spotted. Lol. Thanks for the videos
Mask required?
They have no knowledge of you being on board – not quite. They have your actual name (well all carriers need that for security reasons).
But the shot at 4:30 struck me because they have the "Gate Closing" indicator when you said boarding began 30 minutes before departure. This is my biggest pet peeve about Changi – they put unnecessary psychological pressure for you to turn up to the gate with such indicators. SIA made it clear their gates close 10 minutes before departure so the "Gate closing" indicator is quite misleading.
Other than that you've provided us with an amusing video.
I flew on the exact same plane from Taipei to Singapore
