Japan Vlog – Journey to Kyoto: Exploring Gion, Trains, and Reuniting with a Friend

Leaving Mercure Sapporo was a mix of emotions as I headed to the airport by bus for my Peach Airlines flight to Osaka Kansai. The flight offered some great views as we made our way to the destination. After landing, getting to the train station and sorting out my Japan Rail Pass took a bit longer than planned, but it was a relief to finally have it in hand.

The train ride on the Hello Kitty Haruka Express to Kyoto was smooth and comfortable. I gazed out of the window, enjoying the scenic countryside passing by. Arriving in Kyoto, I checked into my hotel which had a nice blend of traditional and modern vibes.

Meeting my friend Eiji was a highlight. We headed to Gion for a sukiyaki dinner. Walking through the historic streets, with the lanterns casting a warm glow, was a cool experience. The sukiyaki was delicious, and we had a great time catching up and enjoying the meal. All in all, a day full of travel and good times!
